Career Central OnLine is a company dedicated to supporting  workforce readiness and the talent needs of employers through its Employment, Training, Career Development and Business Solutions.
We believe that successful human capital initiatives require an understanding of how employment, education, and economic development must work together to build and sustain talent pipelines for current and future requirements.

Management Team

 Cynthia Gurne, President and Founder

Cindy has over twenty-five years of career development, executive search, and employment experience in the public, private, and not for profit sectors. She has been director of Professional and Career Development, director of Career Development, and Senior Consultant. In addition to providing individual manager and executive coaching services, she has managed a career management demonstration program for Department of Army personnel specialists , managed a national pre-retirement and career transition program for HUD, conducted career management and career transition programs for military, civilian, and private sector employees, designed and conducted career transition programs for profession specific fields including law and IT. Clients have included Comsat, Honeywell, MCI (MCI Worldcom), and United Way of America, Johns Hopkins University, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Department of Army..

She is currently working with the public and private sectors to create partnerships for building talent pipelines for skilled and professional positions in support of industry sectors. Career Central On-Line is also a small business on the Army HR Solutions Team.  The prime is a Veteran owned and Service Disabled Company with whom she partners on military service projects.

 Cindy has served on various committees of the Employment Manager’s Association, HR Leadership Awards, Board of Trade, Fairfax and Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, ASTD’s Career Development SIG of the Washington DC area, and NVTC Workforce Development Committee. She chaired the Professional Development Committee, Human Resources Association of the National Capitol Area and the DC Chamber Task Force reviewing a partnership program between the DCPS and the Chamber for which she was given  its volunteer of the year award.  She currently heads the Workforce Readiness Committee of HRA-NCA.—a partnership program between the DC Chamber and the DC Public Schools.

Cindy has spoken to numerous groups on career development and workforce readiness, Most recently, she spoke to the Military Recruiter Conference  on Building Recruiting Partnerships (ppt available on request)

Cindy has an M. Ed in Adult Development from George Washington University and postgraduate work in counseling from the University of New Mexico.
