Christopher Bruno was appointed Director of Economic Development for the City of Fairfax in May of 2016. In this capacity, Director Bruno serves as the City liaison to the Economic Development Authority and is responsible for coordinating the economic development priorities of the City’s leadership with the Authority’s strategic plan.

Prior to joining the City of Fairfax, Director Bruno served as Agency Counsel for the New York City Department of Small Business Services. Chris served in the United States Navy for thirty two years. A Naval Aviator, he commanded two helicopter squadrons and two amphibious warships. As a Flag Officer he commanded Navy installations in the Republic of Korea and the five-state Mid Atlantic Region. His final assignment was as the Director of Ashore Readiness for the Chief of Naval Operations.

Since retirement from the Navy in 2004 Chris has worked as a consultant to private industry and the Department of Defense in energy, environment, facilities, and management fields. He now serves as President of the Navy Safe Harbor Foundation, and is chairman of the Board of Directors for the Military Bowl Foundation.

Cynthia Butler brings over 33 plus years of Federal experience concluding with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in the areas of human resources, human capital strategic planning, employee engagement and career sustainment expertise. Matt Caywood is a technologist with a passion for transportation and design. He founded TransitScreen to make cities easier for people to use -- with real time information and directions available at a glance -- and ultimately to enhance the sustainability of cities themselves. Before founding TransitScreen, he worked on brain-computer interfaces and computer vision applications at a national lab. Matt has a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California San Francisco, and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Harvard.
